With only a few weeks remaining till the Baobab Festival, the first artists that have been confirmed are a group originating from Guinea Conakry, Wamali Percussions! Though they have their base in Guinea Conakry, they currently reside in France. Several of the artists in the group have been active in many different tours and settings, ranging from concerts to the first African acrobatic circus, Circus Baobab!
So who is Wamali Percussions, one might ask? It’s a talented group of 10 consisting of:

Antoine Bangoura- Sanbang – Dundun – Chant
Mariam Kanté- Chant – Dance
Karamoko Bangoura- Kora
Fode Moussa Camara- Djembé – Krin
Fatoumata Yansané- Danse, chant & doun doun
Mohamed Camara- Djembé
Ousmane Kouyaté- Balafon – Sanbangfola – Chant
Throughout the Baobab Festival guests will be able to enjoy not only the concerts but also workshops in African dance, dundun-dance, and djembe/dun!
